I’m the founder of Social Kat Media— but I’m also a social media strategist, mom of two, The Office fangirl (IYKYK), and your business’ biggest cheerleader. My mission is to make social media as simple, fun, and effective as possible for small business owners like you so you can get seen, form real relationships with your community, and (yep!) make more money.
If you’re not making Reels on Instagram you’re missing out! Reels offer a simple way to reach new audiences with short and fun engaging videos. Speaking from experience (I’ve racked up more than 200,000 views on Instagram Reels so far!) Reels are where it’s at. And they’re not going anywhere so you might as well jump in!
If you’re ready to take the creative plunge but not sure where to start, I’m here to help. Read on for three easy Instagram Reels ideas any business can use to connect with their audience today. Are you ready to make your Reels debut? Let’s go!
When it comes to showing up successfully on social, the key is to have a plan. Making Reels is no different! Just like a regular Instagram post, you’ll want to:
✔️ know what you want to say
✔️ include a caption & hashtags
✔️ create a fun, branded visual (in this case a video & cover)
✔️ include a Call to Action (CTA) to inspire viewers to take that next step & engage
For a Reels, you’ll also need to choose your audio.
When you create a Reel, you can add audio in one of two ways. The first way is to click the “audio” icon 🎵 when you’re done filming or uploading your video. Then you can either choose a track from the suggested songs or search for something specific. The second option is to do a little Reels detective work to see which audio clips are trending.
To find trending audio clips, scroll the Reels feed and look for a little upward-pointing arrow in the audio section at the bottom of each video. That arrow means the audio is trending! Then, click on the audio icon (bottom left) and click “Save Audio.” Voila! You can now add that trending audio to your next Reel.
Once you have a plan and a sweet audio clip to work with, you’re ready to create some Reels!
Whether your business is service or product-based, Instagram Reels can get more eyes on what you have to offer. And, once you find your groove, they are a lot of fun to make! If you’re not sure where to start, here are three ideas you can use today to create quality content that connects.
